The snack boards in our house have been the it thing for lunch recently. I find them super easy to make and the kids find them a lot of fun to enjoy eating. We will be making Charcuterie Boards for a long time in this house.
With the holidays coming up a Charcuterie Boards is the perfect low carb and keto appetizer to set out. It has all the tasty things you would want to put out for appetizers and snacks all arranged beautifully on a wooden board.
The beauty of a Keto Charcuterie Board is that you can load it up with anything you want to, there are on rules really to making a low carb Charcuterie Board but they look so beautiful and are filled with tasty low carb snacks and keto appetizers.
What is a Charcuterie Board?
Originally Charcuterie Boards were the meat version of a cheese board. Since they have become so popular they are now being made in many different variations including our creation of the Keto Breakfast Charcuterie board.
Normally on a Charcuterie Board you will find meat and cheese, along with fruit, crackers and bread that are all arranged to look beautiful on a wooden board. For this low carb Charcuterie Board we have skipped the crackers and made keto cheese chips and pepperoni chips instead.
What foods go on a Charcuterie Board?
Well that is part of the beauty of making a Charcuterie Board, really you can put anything you want to on it!
If you want to go for warmer snack and appetizer foods you can. If you want to go with cold foods you can. You can litterally put anything you want to on a Charcuterie Board.

There are lots of different meats that you can include on a Charcuterie Board, for this one I used different types of salami as the main meats, but just about any meat will work. I do tend to stick with cured meats when making a keto snack platter, but you can use lunch meats as well.

Keto Charcuterie Board Ingredients
- Olives. I used garlic stuffed olives but you can Substitute these with marinated olives or black olives.
- Pickled mushrooms.
- Pepperoncini peppers
- Pickles. I used small pickles but you can also use pickle slices. Hengstenberg Traditional German Barrel Pickles, Best Maid Sour Pickles, Heinz Genuine Whole Dill Pickles, McClure’s Garlic Dill Pickles and Vlasic Kosher Dill Whole Pickles are all keto friendly and low carb pickles that you can use.
- Cheese Chips. I used white cheddar cheese, yellow cheddar cheese and pepper jack cheese to make cheese chips, but you can change out the types of cheese you use for what you have on hand or prefer.
- Pepperoni chips. All you need for these is fresh pre sliced pepperonit. Then place the pepperoni on a plate lined with paper towels and microwave for 1 minute until they are crisp to make pepperoni chips.
- Prosciutto-wrapped cheese sticks. If you can not find them in the store already made just wrap a piece of string cheese cut in half with a piece of prosciutto.
- Cheese. I used bacon jalapeno cheddar cheese and cheddar cheese and cut it into cubes, but you can use any flavor cheese you want to.
- Meat. I used hard salami, pepper coated salami, thin sliced sliced salami and prosciutto but you can also change things up and use sliced turkey, and slices of ham.
How to Make Keto Charcuterie Board
Before getting started making the board you will want to prep your items.
You will need to slice the peppered salami, salami, and hard salami, keep them separate from each other.
You will need to cut the bacon jalapeno cheddar cheese and the cheddar cheese into cubes and keep them separate from each other.
Make the pepperoni chips, take the slices of pepperoni and place the pepperoni on a plate lined with paper towels and microwave for 1 minute until they are crisp to make pepperoni chips.
Make the cheese chips. Slice blocks of pepper jack cheese, white cheddar and yellow cheddar cheese. Then place on a plate lined with parchment paper in the microwave and cook for 1 minute. See the full in depth directions for how to make chips out of cheese if you need further instructions.
Place four small bowls on the plater according to the picture.
Fill the largest bowl with the pickles, then fill one bowl with the olives, fill another bowl with the mushrooms, and fill the last bowl with the peppers.
Arrange the cheese chips in a swirl from the bottom left corner to the top right corner.
Place the pepperoni chips on the left-hand side between the olives and cheese chips.
Place the prosciutto-wrapped cheese next to the bowl of pickles and peppers.
Place the sliced salami stick next to the bowl of pickles and cheese sticks.
Above the pickles place the sliced peppered salami in a swirl.
Add the jalapeno cheddar cheese on the right-hand side between the cheese chips and peppered salami.
Add the cheddar cheese cubes to the top left corner.
Fold the sliced salami and place it next to the peppers and mushrooms.
On the top hole place, the sliced rolled prosciutto.
