I know that fast food is not the healthiest option but I have to admit that I LOVE the McDonald’s Big Mac. Many people get upset with any admittance of liking fast food, and while I much prefer homemade restaurant style food there is a place in our lives for fast food.
I have loved the Big Mac for so long, I can not even tell you the first time I had one. It is my go to sandwich at McDonald’s and has been for as long as I can remember.
When I started eating low carb I would follow the Keto at McDonald’s list and the Low Carb at McDonald’s list. Chopped up Big Mac became my go to.
I always get a Big Mac with no bun. Then I chop up the burger and eat it kinda like a salad.
But I miss the bun. I missed holding the burger and taking a bite. This Keto Big Mac with a chaffle as the bread is the PERFECT solution and even better I can make it at home with real fresh ingredients so it is a lower carb alternative.
Big Mac Chaffles
I got hooked on chaffles when they first started making waves on facebook because of how amazing they taste and how easy they are to make. Prior to the chaffles I made all of my burgers as lettuce wrap burgers but the chaffle has totally changed things!
I took the basic chaffle recipe and changed things up a bit to make the perfect big mac keto chaffle.

How to Make a Chaffle
If you have never made a chaffle I am telling you they are SUPER easy! All you need is egg, cheese and seasoning and then a waffle maker. I personally use and prefer to use the Dash waffle maker. You can grab one on Amazon for about $10 and it will be the best $10 you have spent in your low carb and Keto eating life.

- Garlic Cheddar Chaffles
- Keto Burger
- American cheese
- Shredded iceberg lettuce
- Dill pickles
- onions, minced
- sesame seeds (optional)

- eggs
- garlic powder
- shredded cheddar cheese

- mayonnaise
- mustard
- pickle relish
- white vinegar
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- paprika
Big Mac Burger Ingredients
- ground beef
- salt
- pepper
How to Make Keto Big Mac
Heat up your dash mini waffle maker.
In a small bowl mix the egg, garlic powder, and shredded cheddar cheese.
Once the dash waffle maker is heated up add in half the chaffle mixture. Cook for 4 minutes and remove. Repeat this step with the chaffle mixture two more times.
How to Make Keto Cheeseburger
Preheat a pan over medium heat. Divided the beef into two chaffle sized patties, season them with salt and pepper. Cook burgers for about three minutes on each side. Top the burgers with the cheese slices and remove from the heat.
How to Make Keto Big Mac Sauce
One of the most important thing about making a Keto Big Mac Burger is the amazing keto Big Mac Sauce.
Making Keto Big Mac Sauce is super easy. You will end up with extra sauce as you will only use about 2-3 tablespoons per Big Mac Chaffle. You can use more or less depending on your preference.
In a small bowl mix the mayonnaise, mustard, relish, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder and paprika and set aside.
Store your left over Keto Big Mac Sauce in an airtight container in the fridge.
How to Assemble Keto Big Mac Chaffle
Spread the sauce on the top of two of the chaffles. Top the first chaffle with lettuce, onion, pickles, and burger.
Repeat this again with chaffle, lettuce, onion, pickles burger, and the last chaffle.
You can top the last chaffle with sesame seeds if you want to.
This may be a lot of food for one person depending on the person. I was only able to eat half of it when I made it the first time and now I do 2 patties, 2 chaffles and the toppings.
I wanted it to look and taste like a Big Mac from McDonald’s with the 3 pieces of “bread” and 2 burgers for sharing with you guys. So if you are like me and need less chaffle it tastes amazing even when you do it with one less chaffle.
