Low Carb Chocolate Dessert Recipes
For many people, giving up bread, pasta, rice, and potatoes are easy when going to low carb. But giving up chocolate is a whole lot harder. That is why I keep a selection of low carb chocolate dessert recipes on hand so that I can always stay on track.
What Kind of Chocolate is Low Carb
When you are making a low carb chocolate dessert you will be using cocoa powder or a no sugar added chocolate. You can also use a cocao bar that is very high in percentage for dark chocolate. Some of these bars can be as high as 90% and that makes them very low in carbs.
When you are looking at the recipe and it says no sugar added chocolate, be sure to check the chocolate you choose. Make sure it is little or no carbs so that you are choosing the right kind.
How to Make a Low Carb Chocolate Dessert
When you are making a low carb chocolate dessert you will be using a sugar substitute. When you are looking for low carb, you want there to be a minimal amount of carbs in it. To get the chocolate dessert to be low carb, you want to have something other than sugar, honey or agave because these will all raise your blood sugar and have sugar carbs in them.
What sugar substitute is best to use for the dessert will depend on the recipe. Be sure to check what kind of sweetener the recipe is suggesting because some are sweeter than others and it can change the way to recipe tastes if you use the wrong one.
